‘It takes a great deal of courage to see the world in all its tainted glory, & still to love it’ – Oscar Wilde
Hello! My name is Stephanie and I am a blogger from the south coast of England, not far from Brighton.
I’ve always lived by the sea and it’s undoubtedly something that has shaped me as a person. As an ex-journalist now working as a publicist at a children’s book publishers, I decided to combine my love of the coast with my passion for writing, and this blog was born.
However, it quickly became clear that I could do so much more with it so this site now has a couple of different strands:
- Our World focuses on conservation and the environment. It’s so incredibly important that we look after and respect our planet and all the creatures living on it. We can learn so much more from animals than they can from us, and we have a responsibility to ensure that they survive and that areas of natural beauty are protected for future generations. This section is all about conservation, the environment and the campaigns we can all get involved with.
- Wellbeing is all about positivity being healthy inside and out. I often feel like this goes hand-in-hand with a life by the coast – it’s the place I feel happiest and this section is where I want to take some of that positivity and share it around.
- On the Water is where I write about surfing, stand-up paddleboarding and any other watersports I challenge myself to! I LOVE being out in the ocean and these two activities are relatively new hobbies for me. This section is where I document my progress and shout about anything surfing related.
- Travel pretty much does what it says. Travelling is a HUGE love of mine and I’m desperately trying to tick off many, many places on my bucket list. This section is where I document my adventures.
Anyone who knows me will be aware that my other love (or obsession) is books but I’m aware that if I started a section just for this, I would never stop writing. For that reason, book reviews and recommendations will appear in all the sections above. At some point, I might start a pure ‘Book’ or ‘Review’ page, but for now it’s probably safer that I don’t…
